BigHead standardises on chrome-free plating

In line with the EUs recent RoHS Directive, BigHead Bonding Fasteners Ltd. has now standardised on a new chrome-free zinc-passive finish for the mild steel range of its famous BigHead bonding fasteners, at no extra charge to the companys 1,500+ UK and overseas customers. This type of finish - containing no Chrome-6 - is now mandatory for plated metal parts used in the Auto industry, with other industries rapidly following suit.

The new plating actually outperforms the old type, say BigHead, and our customers have no problem with the very slight colour change. One thing that it hasnt affected, of course, is the very high torque and tensile strength provided by our unique welding process. The complete range of BigHead bonding fasteners - some 2000 variants is available in either mild steel or 316S11 marine-grade stainless.

The free samples and prototypes service operated by the company greatly simplifies the design process, as do the 2D/3D CAD drawings of the entire range which are available on a free CD; also included is a full set of PDF versions. Copies of the CD, as well as full technical information on the complete BigHead product range, can be obtained by calling the BigHead Sales Hotline on 01202 574601 or by visiting the companys recently-upgraded website at www.bighead.co.uk
