BigHead fasteners play their part in Morphis simulators

Blondecell, the leading glass fibre and composite moulding company has turned to BigHead Bonding Fasteners to provide fasteners for its newest product ­ the Morphis MovieRide Theater - a state-of-the-art simulator for theme parks.

Designed by Camber Entertainment, the Morphis is the result of extensive market research and top class design and engineering skills. It is a space-age style capsule, ergonomically designed with the audio visual experience configured around digital technology. It has advanced safety features including seat belts and built-in maintenance diagnostics.

According to Colin Pipkin, Blondecell’s sales and marketing manager, all components are selected for quality. “The fibre glass capsule has set new standards in fit and finish and this extends to every single part. We have used BigHead fasteners in the past for our other products, so we knew we could rely on the company to provide us with the correct fasteners which would not only do the job but also be totally reliable.”

The fixings used in the Morphis simulator are BigHead type M1/B23 and Type F2/T38 and they are used to attach the mirror mounting, attach speakers in the roof and fix access panels.

For nearly 40 years BigHead fasteners have been incorporated in thousands of plastic products. Suitable for use with all common moulding methods and types of plastic they provide strong, concealed anchorages and enable plastic products to be joined quickly and cheaply to mating components.

They are ideal for use with pre-finished materials because no expensive drilling or filling is ever needed. They are either bonded into something or stuck to the rear of it. In neither case can the means of fastening be detected.

About 2000 different types and sizes of BigHead fasteners are available from stock and, unlike nails or screws, have load distributing features which no other fasteners can match. Equally important is the fact that they never require expensive ‘making good’. About 200 new designs are added each year, as well as many specials designed to meet customers’ specific fastening problems.
