An ingenious fixing method for all thicknesses of insulation material, the Pinsulator is made to order in either mild or 316 stainless steel, using wire of 3mm diameter with a sharpened nail point. Once the Pinsulator is glued
or moulded into position, a standard BigHead springclip retains the insulation material in position (see page 6).
A wide variety of head sizes and shapes is available - we can actually manufacture on any standard head - and
the Pinsulator is manufactured in lengths from 25mm to 150mm. All M5 bigHeads shown on page 5 can be used as Pinsulators if required. |

This typically simple and effective fastening solution is used increasingly in marine and industrial insulation installations throughout the world, as well as in land-based tank storage farms.
We also produce the Giant BigHead a version of the Pinsulator designed for heavyweight industrial applications, typically in large Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) tank farms or power stations. The standard version utilises a 58mm square head and a 5mm dia. pin in lengths of up to 400mm. A 50mm dia. spreader washer and a barbed, stainless steel spring clip complete the assembly. The picture above illustrates the use of the spreader washer and clip to retain the insulating material. |
