This ingenious circular fastener solution utilises two concentric rolled rings of stainless
steel wire, with diameters determined by the required Pitch Circle Diameter (PCD) of the male or female fasteners. Accurate jigging and welding provide instant alignment, and the unique BigHead welding process provides a perfect grain structure in the steel,
ensuring maximum resistance to shear and tensile stresses in service. In common with all BigHead fasteners the welding process, perfected over 40 years of experience, produces a weld that is at least as strong as the constituent parts of the finished product. |
BigRings are increasingly utilised in the marine industry for porthole surrounds, inspection covers and hatches and similar applications, and in an increasing number of general fabrication applications, particularly in providing inspection and access covers for large fuel tanks and reservoirs manufactured in plastics, GRP or composites.
Bonded in during manufacture, they provide a highly accurate and immensely strong array of fixing points,
in both male or female versions. |

| BigStrip |
 |
This version comprises a stud, collar or other device - male or female - welded to a 16mm wide mild or 316S11 stainless steel strip. Standard BigStrips come in 1 metre lengths but, like all BigHead products, can be manufactured with any required stud length and diameter as well as variable pitch, strip width and length. It
is also possible to have specific lengths of BigStrip designed and manufactured, subject to a minimumorder
requirement call for details.
Jig-built to very high tolerances, BigStrips enable rows of fasteners to be mounted or positioned with extreme accuracy and speed. The mild steel versions are also available in our new nonchrome
zinc passive finish, to comply with the new European Directive. |
